The Hicks Story

Harold E. Hicks built the reputation of Hicks Homes when he completed work on a new subdivision in 1950 called Aina Haina. As a result, Hicks Homes is as well known as the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Since that time, Hicks has offered design-built homes, pre-cut (not pre-fab) home kits, custom homes and large and small subdivisions ranging in size from 12 homes to 280 projects.

Joe Kindrich, grandson to Harold Hicks (founder of Hicks Homes) is the company's Owner and President. Joe takes great pride in the Hicks Homes name and continues to insure a quality product at a fair price. By doing this, he is perpetuating the legacy established by his grandfather.

Joe has taken Hicks Homes to the next level, from pre-designed homes to design-build custom homes. At Hicks, anything is possible and we work with our clients to meet all of their budgetary requirements, whether it's one of our affordable pre-designed homes or an executive custom home, we can do it and we work for you!

We have been building homes for many years and have recognized what work and what does not. We enjoy using quality building products and implementing building techniques that withstand Hawaii's harsh weather conditions. We have discovered that this combination of building products and techniques minimizes the homeowner's maintenance, greatly extends the life of the home and increases and maintains the home's value.

What makes us different from other builders

We provide added value in each home built.

We self-perform our own carpentry, and painting using only quality materials and supplies.

We trim out (finish carpentry) the interior, base boards, window sills, and interior doors to match the color of your cabinets.

We use the most up-to-date building techniques, materials, and products in each quality home.

We are a family business with a recognizable name - we protect and build the Hicks name with only Quality and Honest building techniques.

We are the only third-generation builder (going on fourth).
